We in the United States are blessed to an extent not dreamed of in most of the rest of the world.

The truly devastating earthquake this week in Haiti, reminds us of how blessed we truly are.  This, the poorest nation in the entire Western Hemisphere has essentially been destroyed.  What little infrastructure existed is gone.

The need for aid is mind-boggling. 12 million people, possibly 500,000 dead, and who knows how many injured, homeless or hungry. Of course, we as individuals can do little, but we can do something.

Below, I have listed 4 honorable organizations committed to assisting the people of Haiti.

Like a used car, used furniture can be less to initially purchase.  That mini-van with 55,000 miles on it, certainly should be less than the new one!

It's important to keep in mind though, there are some significant "give ups" when purchasing used.

Warranty.  If it breaks in 3 months, you are pretty much out of luck.

Choices.  When you order new, YOU select the finish, color, size, etc. With used, you pretty much have to take what is there.

Add ons.  With new product, you can almost always find more of the matching product. Used?  Not really.  You might find something similar, but it's unlikely you'll find the identical item.

Last, used furniture, like used cars nearly always come "pre-dented".  The good news is you don't need to worry about making the first dent.

Just some thoughts you should consider.

Good question, with a simple answer.

You do it by making your reception area represent what you do and who you are, allowing the prospective client to "get comfortable".

That doesn't mean you spend a King's Ransom, or even a prince's!  You furnish and appoint your reception area to fit your client base. 

Art, furniture, wall colors and coverings, floor coverings are all great ways to do this.
